Talus Cave Tour Experience the sanctuary through this memorable guided adventure. We will explore the sanctuary by hiking through massive valleys of boulders, heading down into Talus caves that feel like entering into the heart of the land, emerging to discover scenic views overlooking the sanctuary's hundreds of acres of preserved open space, and most importantly breathing and taking it all in. Throughout the tour you will learn about the native plants and animals, as well as the ancient history of the landscape, including the geological history of the boulder formations. Our tour will come to a close by exploring the gardens, ponds, and artistic creations of our founder Garth. You are invited to come and experience this magical space. This is a rigorous 2-hour exploration of our most incredible Talus caves, specifically designed for experienced hikers only. This offering is very advanced. Please ensure you are properly hydrated before arrival and have hiking shoes or boots. Long sleeves and long pants are recommended to protect your skin from the rough texture of the boulders. If you do not consider yourself to be an experienced hiker we can work with you to curate an experience that will take you to some easier-to-access caves (which really are absolutely incredible too!) The following itinerary is a representation of what this experience generally consists of, but based on your comfort level hiking through the boulders, the time of the day, as well as the energy levels of you or your group, your host will be happy to modify your experience. If you want to slow down and take in the energy of a cave while you meditate for a while, let's do it! If you want to keep moving and make sure to see as many awesome caves as possible, let's do it!
